UIC HR is developing guidance documents for units on HR processing issues, the first of which is the attached fall appointment processing instruction guide. The instructions outline the responsibilities of college and unit HR staff and provide directions/tips on how to assist employees who may experience payroll delays this month. Our hope is that this is the type of guidance you will find helpful.
New hire and employee record change transactions had to be applied in the HR processing system (HR Front End) for the September 16th monthly payroll date by Wednesday, September 7, 2016. In order for UIC HR to apply transactions, they must be complete, submitted on time and include all required attachments (offer letters, background check clearance, etc.). UIC HR staff has reviewed and applied hundreds of transactions over the past month. Our shared goal is to ensure that employees will be paid on time and correctly. Despite these efforts, there are always cases of individuals who will experience pay issues in September caused by transactions submitted after the payroll calculation date or submitted to UIC HR on time but returned to the unit for correction.
UIC HR will continue to communicate with the HR Network to ensure that the campus reappointment and appointment process goes smoothly. I welcome your feedback and further collaboration as UIC HR continues to develop guides and instructions for the campus.
