A day of Professional Development for individuals in Human Resources roles campus-wide is being sponsored by UIC HR on Friday, November 1, 2013. This learning event focuses on the unique development needs of Human Resources professionals. With a focus on professional growth, academy presenters and facilitators plan to address topics such as Civil Service 101 and building a diverse applicant pool, employee performance management, employee relations, diversity, as well as recruitment and hiring.
Keynote speakers will engage participants with interactive presentations and share practical tools to enhance HR service delivery.
During the event kick-off presentation, Dr. Cal LeMon, president of Executive Enrichment, Inc. will share insights on the leadership role of Human Resources professionals at UIC. The lunch hour keynote speaker, a high energy, results oriented presenter, Dr. Roy Alston of Academy Leadership will engage participates in a discussion about using leadership skills to pursue excellence in the workplace, deliver quality customer service and positively influence others to achieve results. The event wrap-up presentation from Carol Grannis and Cindy Maher of Leading Edge Coaches will focus on teams and the need to leverage collective strengths to affect positive change at UIC.
The HR Academy is intended to further promote the development of partnerships across UIC HR and individuals with HR responsibilities campus-wide. Through the academy, the goal is to share information and raise awareness about HR processes and procedures to aid staff across colleges and administrative units in their efforts to collaborate more effectively with UIC HR while addressing various human capital needs.
This learning event will be full of practical Human Resources information and insights. Participants should look forward to walking away from the day-long session with value-add tools to support more effective and efficient Human Resources service delivery.
